Realizing the importance of quality assurance, a deptt named QA Dte has been created in POFs. Quality Management System (QMS) as per ISO 9000 has been implemented and certification of 14 factories and 09 client services deptts to ISO 9001:94 was acquired during Jan 2000. Re-certification to ISO 9001:2000 was achieved during January 2002. All requirements of main and sub-clauses of QMS such as Quality System, Management responsibility, Resource Management, Product realization and measurement, analysis and improvement are being maintained and monitored by QA teams working in factories. |

POFs also implemented the Environmental Management System (EMS) as per requirements of ISO 14001:96. Its 14 factories are certified to this standard. Implementation and monitoring of EMS is proceeding effectively. Transition to updated version of EMS standard ISO 14001:2004 has been undertaken. |

Lab Management System to ISO 17025 has been implemented in three POFs Labs (Calibration Lab, Metallurgical Lab and Explosives Lab) to enhance their competence and integrity. Full assessment of these Labs by Accreditation Body (M/s PNAC) has recently been carried out and accreditation of POFs Labs is expected shortly. |
